HELP TELL THE STORY OF THE ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE

Supported by Lotterywest
Have you been touched by the RFDS?

For almost 100 years, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been a lifeline for Western Australians, delivering emergency medical care and vital health services across some of the world’s most remote communities.

As the RFDS prepares to celebrate its centenary in 2028, we are inviting people across Western Australia to share their stories as part of a major community storytelling project, proudly supported by Lotterywest.

The stories collected will inspire a new theatre production, radio play and public exhibition celebrating the people, communities and extraordinary legacy of the RFDS.

Share Your Story

We’re seeking stories from anyone whose life has been touched by the RFDS, including:

  • Patients and their families
  • Doctors, nurses, first responders and pilots
  • Volunteers and support staff
  • People living and working in regional, rural and remote Western Australia

Whether it was a life-saving emergency, a routine clinic visit, or simply the reassurance of knowing help was there when it was needed, every story is an important part of Western Australia’s history.  No story is too big or too small.

THEATRE 180’s creative team will travel across the state to record stories that will help commemorate the RFDS’ centenary in 2028.

If you have an RFDS story to share, we’d love to hear from you.
