ALBANY 2026 – RECORDED SHORT STORIES

Written by Albany writers
A heartfelt celebration of Albany's identity - past, present and imagined.

We invite you to choose your own excursion and enjoy listening to recorded short stories written by talented Albany writers.

A spectrum of human experience is shared in these beautiful reflections by local authors. Many are poignant, some are joyous, others heartbreaking, but all are affecting in their own way.

These stories were developed during the creative development of the stage production Our Place, Rain or Shine which will be performed by THEATRE 180 and a cast of locals at the Albany Entertainment Centre on the 25th and 26th September 2026.

We’ve recommended some iconic Albany locations for you to sit and listen to these moving stories, but of course, you can enjoy them anywhere, at any time of day if you prefer.

If you are feeling adventurous, pack your thermos, phone and headphones, drive yourself to the location indicated and set yourself up for a relaxing cuppa in the great outdoors, while listening to the short stories.
