Katie Keady is an actor, voice artist and independent theatre producer with her company Eat Life Productions.
A WAAPA Theatre graduate, she also has a BA in English (Theatre), Curtin University. Other training includes The Actor’s Centre, London and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s FirstHand Puppetry Artist Training Program.
WA theatre credits include Black Swan Theatre Company, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Barking Gecko Theatre Company and Deckchair Theatre Company. Independent theatre includes the award-winning Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre Company’s ‘The Black Swan of Trespass’ (Lally Katz) for Melbourne Fringe Festival, New York Fringe Festival, Belvoir Street Downstairs and Malthouse Theatre, and other works at La Mama Theatre, Brighton Fringe Festival, The White Bear Theatre London, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) and The Blue Room Theatre.
Awards include ‘Best Actor Female’ WA Equity Guild Awards 2006 for the role of Annie in Deckchair’s ‘Love’ (Patricia Cornelius) and nominations for ‘Best Actor Female’ WA Equity Guild Awards 2008 for her 90 minute solo in Eat Life’s co-production with Steamworks Arts of the French play ‘Kids’ Stuff’ (Raymond Cousse).
Katie’s latest theatre work was producing and performing in ‘Love’ (Finigan Kruckemeyer), a work for young audiences, directed by Alexa Taylor, for Summer Nights at The Blue Room Theatre, Fringeworld 2020.
