THEATRE 180’s name stems from the stories of our lives across a 180-degree perspective, from our buoyant youth to the wisdom of age. Recognising that Arts and Culture play a vital role in the fabric of a functioning, healthy, robust and enlightened society, we are committed to both presenting works for and about, and creating educational opportunities for young people and students.
Every production we stage will include opportunities for students and their teachers to engage with us on an educational level, whether through post and pre-show Q&A’s, educational packs and accessibility through reduced ticket prices for schools’ bookings.
Artist talks and workshops led by our current cast and creatives or Artistic Director Stuart Halusz are part of our ongoing commitment to engagement with the sector. We also strive to program works which resonate with the schools’ syllabus and include performance times which are accessible for schools to attend, and have reached out to Drama Teachers throughout WA across the Public, Private and Catholic systems to gain insight into how best to cater to their needs as educators.
Additionally, we have instigated mentorship programs which connect with students wanting to learn more about a career in the arts, and welcome interns and student observers who want to gain experience from witnessing a professional theatre company in action.
